Sausage and Mozzarella Souffle (Air Fryer Recipe)

A few weeks ago we go an Air Fryer and since then I’ve been making all kinds of recipes. One morning I tried my hand at making mini quiches for breakfast. They were good but they were just egg and mix ins. They were missing something and that’s when I remembered those delicious breakfast souffle they serve at Panera. You know the ones, they serve them in those cute little cups and it’s eggs mixed with flaky bread goodness. That’s what mine needed. So I decided to try and recreate all that goodness.

We love making big breakfasts on the weekends, and this souffle is a nice change from the quick breakfasts we eat all week. It’s also nice to mix up our weekend menu from our usual omlett or waffles we tend to make often. They’re savory and delicious and I know you’ll love them!

The first step was deciding what ingredients I wanted in my quiche. I went with sausage and mozzarella, and then had to decided what would be the best way to achieve the mixed in bread. I decided to try using crescent rolls and they worked great! I liked that they come already cut in triangles because that shape works perfect. I started by gathering my ingredients:

Step One

Take two of the crescent roll dough and flatten them out a little more with a rolling pin. This just to make them stretch a longer to be able to wrap around the egg. After stretching them lay them in your sprayed ramekin with the larger side of the dough on the bottom. The tops of the dough will hang over the sides and that’s what you want it to do because you will use that to wrap around the egg later.

Step Two

Whisk the eggs and cream together real good, then add the salt and pepper and mix together.

Step Three

I cooked my sausage and added that and the cheese to my egg mixture. Then pour in into your ramekin.

Step four

Fold over your excess dough and lay on top of egg mixture.

Step Five

I placed in my air fryer and set the fryer for 370 degrees and 20 min.  It came out perfect!

One reason I love using the air fryer is because you don’t have to wait for it to pre-heat. You just put your food inside set the cooking setting and let it go! If you don’t have an air fryer you can definitely cook in the oven. I’ve done that also and cooked it at 375 for 20 min.

I love that you can be as creative as you want with this recipe.  Don’t eat meat? Go ahead and make it with all veggies. Like extra spice? Add in some peppers or spice it up with red pepper flakes. You could also keep it basic with just cheese. You can’t really go wrong with egg, crescent dough and pretty much anything you add in.

I hope you try this recipe and love it as much as I did!
