I’ve been so bad about updating on here lately. I would blame it on being busy but I have plenty of free time every morning that I just sit around eating breakfast, drinking my coffee and browsing other peoples blogs thinking about how I should update mine, but not actually doing it. Which means there’s quite a few things to go over . . . I’m sure you’re excited to hear all about our happenings!
First up was that I got a new case for my phone a few weeks ago and I LOVE it!! It’s personalized and I got it from an online store called Personalized from Me to You. The sell all kids on monogrammed items, this is the only think I’ve ordered from them and it came out so nice that I’m sure I might order more things. I did however notice that right after I ordered my phone case they switched from using Otter boxes to using Lifeproof cases, which are way more expensive! I’m glad I ordered when I did!
Next up we finally were able to fence in our back yard. If you haven’t been to our house let me fill you in that we have a huge yard!! Our lot is 1/2 an acre, we love it because unlike newer neighborhoods we are not right up close to our neighbors. In face we can barely see our neighbors houses because there are lots of trees between our house and their making a nice little privacy boarder. With such a big lot it was expensive to put in a fence for the almost 300 ft we needed to close it in (and that’s not counting across the back of our lot because there was already a fence along the back. Side note: When I put 300 ft as an estimate on the form you fill out on line to get an estimate appointment set up, the guy sounding like he thought I was crazy said “yeah 300 ft is a lot I don’t think that’s right.” I told him “well we have a big yard!” and when the guy they sent out for the estimate measures it came pretty close to 300 ft.
Anyway after spending an entire day trying to clear out the trees and cutting things back enough to get ready for the fence installation, we had only tackled one side of the yard and then decided to just call the tree peeps and have them come and finish it off and take down some old citrus trees we no longer needed.
All the areas we had to clear out
That bottom picture is of a huge stump we tried to remove but there is no cutting that thing out! We tried 2 different chainsaws. One we rented from Home Depot and it was mega strength and didn’t make a dent in the stump. We told them that when we returned it and luckily they didn’t charge us for the rental. So it’s still there in the back corner of the yard until we figure out how to get ride of it.
The fence people came and put up our entire fence in one day! How crazy is that? AND they dug all the fence post holes by hand!! WHAT!! Lucky loves his new fence and having the freedom to run around all crazy in the back yard. He was exhausted after his first day exploring his new yard.
In progress . . .
Here he is running free in the yard!
And here he is recovering
After putting in fence I decided I needed to work on fixing up the yard so it can eventually be a nice little retreat area for us to hang out in and have guests over to entertain. However, this task is going to be lots of work because we really haven’t done anything to it except last spring I had a garden which all pretty much dies off in the summer from the heat. So I need to move it and start over soon on that.
I did however star with one flower bed. I figured I have to start somewhere and a little progress is better then none!! We found all these cement blocks when cleaning out the yard for the fence so I used those to outline the flower bed. I think I need to paint them black so it’ll look better but it’s a start.
There’s more goings on to talk about, but I will get to that next time!
girl i am tired for you!!! I love the case!!
your fence looks great! we need to get ours redone, but it is such a big project!
