Happy Labor Day!

We’ve had a great long weekend! Friday morning I took Lucky to the Dr.’s for his check up and shots. He loves to ride in the car so he was super excited when we left the house. This excitement was short lived once he realized where we were when we got there.
On our way!!
This was his long appointment so I was just dropping him off for a few hours and came back to get him about 3 hours later. The doctor said everything was great with him, but that we should try to brush his teeth more so he doesn’t get periodontal disease. I actually do try to brush his teeth every once in a while, but she said we should do it about once every other day!! What?!?! Do you know how hard it is to brush a dog’s teeth!!
Beagles were the “breed of the week,” which apparently means that if they get their check up and visit grooming in the same week they get a goody bag and some coupons for future grooming or something. Lucky doesn’t go to grooming so we didn’t find out. No worries though he came home with plenty of goodies. He maaaaayyyyy be a little spoiled!!

This is our shopping cart at Petsmart! He got a new bed, tennis balls,
some treats, those pork chomps, and a new tie out for the back yard
that’s 40 ft so now he can pretty much run around the whole yard now!!

This is the picture he sent Daddy at work to let him know
he made it home from the Dr. ok and loves his new bed and bone!

We’re also babysitting Amina (our former roomie’s dog) for the next week! Oh joy! It’s not that she’s hard to take care of she’s just a little annoying, haha! In the afternoon though Tammy and Sloanie stopped by for a visit and Amina got to meet her first baby. She was so intrigued and kept running up and smelling Sloane.
Don’t let that cuteness fool you!!
Meeting for the first time!
On Friday we usually go out to eat but I didn’t feel like getting dressed up to go out and have to wait to sit and all that jazz. So instead we ordered from Thai Basil and Matt picked it up on his way home. We actually split a meal of Pad Thai, some crab rangoon and Thai spring rolls. It was plenty of food. We learned this the first time we went there and each ordered our own meal and pretty much had to roll ourselves home because it was soooo much food! The food is super sized but not the price which is fabulous!! After we ate our yummy dinner and had time to digest we headed to the newest frozen yougurt place by our house, which is dangerously only about 1 mile away!! We split this too,but that we always do and we enjoyed every last bite!!
Saturday morning I went to meet my friend Nancy and her sister at The Learning Experience where they bother work. Her sister is the director and Nancy is the curriculum specialist. Nancy had called me the night before to ask if I was interested in working with them also. This place is fairly new and so they are still  growing and just had a burst of enrollment at the end of last week. Anyway I we went to see the place, which is fabulous by the way. If your in need of child care you should definitely check it out! I met her sister and the woman who owns the place and got all the deets and paper work and my polo and on Tuesday I will be starting. I’m just an assistant filling in where needed, but I think it will be fun! It’s just part time for now but eventually it could grown into more or full time.
Look how cute the entrance is!
The rest of Saturday and Sunday pretty much consisted of napping, a little cleaning and mostly relaxing. We grilled out on Saturday for dinner and had some delish chicken wings! We both weren’t feeling 100% so the resting helped. Along with the echinacea and vitamin C packets I got when I went grocery shopping.
Family nap time!

My view waking up from my very needed nap! Awww!
Today, Monday being Labor day was the only day we actually did anything remotely close to labor. Haha! First however I must share with you a funny story. Matt woke up before me and was already at the kitchen table on his computer playing his nerdy computer game. I came in and got my breakfast and sat down at the table to eat. A little while later he got up to go play with Lucky and when he leaned over I noticed that the back of his pants were completely ripped!! I mean from the top to bottom of one let. When I asked him he said “Oh yes I meant to tell you that when I got up this morning and I bent over to get Lucky’s food bowl my pants ripped!” He claims it’s cause he’s gotten fat, but I told him it’s probably just cause they’re old. He’s the type that wears everything until it’s completely non-wearable (such as a huge rip in the back!). He probably won’t be to thrilled I shared that but it’s funny!! Love you dear!! muah!!
Wasn’t even kidding about how large the rip was!!
On to the afternoon.  Matt mowed most of the back yard until the lawn mower decided that it was tired! Our yard it quite large (1/2 acre) so we mow the front and back yard on opposite weeks!
He’s so excited to be mowing in 100 degree weather!

That’s the lawn mower in recovery!
While he was mowing I took on the task of cleaning up a huge pile of cut limbs and weeds from work I had done probably about 5 months ago. I know horrible! Cutting them down is the easy part, but cleaning up the mess is torture!! The pile was becoming over grown and was blocking the door to our shed. I also cleaned up my garden some trying to get it ready to replant some stuff if it ever cools down!
No before picture but right at the corner the pile was
pretty much as tall as the fence! 3 very FULL bags later it’s all cleaned up!
It’s been a lazy weekend so ofcourse I took the lazy approach to dinner and made pirogies and broccoli. We hadn’t had them in forever and they’re so good!! Probably not the healthiest option, but we enjoyed them anyway!
Dinner cooking! They’re so easy to make!

Enjoy!!
