Babysitting 101
So no I don’t have kids yet, and yes I’m ok with that because for us right now we’re just enjoying being married for our first year. We’re thinking possibly next year we’ll move into the kid zone (and by putting this out there my Mom has already planned out a Christmas grandchild). We do, however, have the cutest little puppy ever!! (that’s the first step right?) He’s a handful and about all we’re prepared to handle right now. Since I mentioned him I must share some photos of just how cute he is and a video!
Lounging in the office |
Sleepy head just woke up |
I love to play in the yard!! |
You don’t need to work out, right? You can just play with me! |
He does this everyday!! You can totally tell when he realizes
he’s being watched and proceeds to act like he didn’t just tear up the bed!! Haha
See I told you he was cute! Anyway, I digress, the point is that in the meantime I have plenty of friends with adorable children that I love to visit and play with, but am all too happy to hand them back over to their momma’s when it’s time for me to go!
One particular little angel I’ve been babysitting twice a week in between Mommy going to work and Daddy getting home from work. It’s been three weeks now and it’s getting much better. Sloanie was not use to Mommy and Daddy leaving her at the same time, which means day #1 went something like this:
Now imagine that x 3 hours and you have an idea of how night #1 went
Baby girl was not happy with this situation, even her dollie couldn’t make her happy!! We tried playing, we tried sing along . . . nada! The only thing she stopped crying long enough to do that day was eat!!
Ahhhh 20 min of peace!!
Now fast forward to this past Tuesday, and this little Bean was 110% better with staying with Auntie Katie! She cried a little when Mommy left, but then this tired little girl took a 45 min nap in her swing (which left just enough time to fold this little fashionista’s wardrobe!) and even woke up and continued to enjoy swinging until it was time to eat!
Nap time
She loves to eat! Yum!
After food was time to “learn,” however it was short lived and she definitely let me know when “learning” time was over!
Too much learning for one day!
So instead we had a sing-a-long with Baby Einstein: Sing and Play. While we sang “Dolly” danced for Sloanie and she was mesmerized by the dance. Everywhere Dolly went Sloane’s eyes were sure to follow. I must admit that while I remember about half of the songs on this CD, I don’t however remember Old Mac Donald having to “oink,” “moo,” “baa,” and even “quack” everywhere in proper backwards order on EVERY verse!!
It was quite exhausting trying to remember all those animals, body parts, when to pick up sticks and when to lay them straight. I apparently wasn’t the only one having too much fun though because half way through the CD this little Angel was out until Daddy came home and it was tubbie time and my que to exit!
Shhhh! Don’t wake the sleeping Angel!!
